There’s a certain confidence that accompanies a great set of clothes that fit just so. This shift in attitude can be subtle for those who are accustomed to wearing fine clothes, but for those who have never experienced the satisfaction of looking their best, a great suit can change their whole demeanor. And there lies the brilliance in the Sharp Dressed Man program, a collaboration between Living Classrooms and the Baltimore Fashion Alliance.

Sharp Dressed Man recycles gently used suits and pairs them with men who are taking interviews for employment, or just beginning a new job. A suit that makes you look and feel amazing can have positive effect on your experience throughout the day. Sharp Dressed Man equips individuals, who are down on their luck, with that feeling, so that when they go out into the world they have the confidence to perform at the top of their game and get back on their feet again.

The organization is opening a new boutique in Mt. Vernon at the Living Classrooms Mentoring Academy at 210 W. Madison Street. There will be an open house this Thursday from 5pm until 8pm and the public is invited to come and see the great work that they’re doing firsthand. Feel free to dig into your closets, attics, and basements for suits you no longer wear, but could still be put to good use and drop them off during the open house.
