WHAT WEEKLY

Gene Clark Supergroup Tour “No Other”

29 January 2014

★ Kelly Louise & Nick

There is no better way to pay tribute to the man who founded The Byrds than devoting an entire tour to one of his albums. Last week, a few members of Beach House and several others kicked off and ended their Gene Clark “No Other” tour,  with a band consisting of Alex Scallly and Victoria Legrand of Beach House, Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes, Daniel Rossen of Grizzly Bear, Iain Matthews of Plainsong and Fairport Convention, Jenn Wasner of Wye Oak and Hamilton Leithauser of The Walkmen. The super-tribute-group performed Gene Clark’s “No Other” as originally arranged from start to finish at the jam-packed Floristree last Thursday, to a sold-out Baltimore crowd.
