Scaling the screen door like the furry little ninja he is, Captain Catbird has had enough. He’s mighty determined to get a closer look at ‘whatever that white stuff is’ falling from the sky. He eventually found out first hand how brutal the ‘white stuff’ could be and thought it better to come back in and watch the storm from inside. Smart, albeit defiant, little bugger.

Here is your snow, drifting ever so gently to the earth, covering our city in a cool blanket of sweet serenity. When was the last time Baltimore was this peaceful? When was the last time we all just stopped for a day or two? When did you ever witness lightning with your snow? Where are the friggin’ snow plows? And who was the guy snowboarding down The Block? Yes, this storm was different. This time there was no denying that we are indeed subject to the whims of Mother Earth’s paintbrush.

Here is your snow again. The shovelers are stacking the piles, neighbors are meeting for the first time and over-anxious motorists are finding they would have been better off digging first and driving later as tires spin in futility. Hats off to the folks on the 3600 and 3700 blocks of Rexmere Road. This morning we walked out to find the street not only clear but dry for the most part. Sunday, we all pitched in and dug our way out. Let’s hear it for community bonding. I hope you guys are ready to do it again. Never before have I seen such a variety of colorful lawn chairs marking sacred, shoveled parking spots.
