Maryland Art Place’s LUX event took place last Friday night and was filled with glamorous attendees and patrons. The event was hosted by Baltimore Raven, Ray Lewis and his fiancé Juliana Childress and was both a gala and a juried invitational exhibition, highlighting artist from the state of Maryland working in photography and digital media. Ray Lewis is an avid photographer and presented his photography publicly for the first time through the LUX event. Guests entered the event via ‘white carpet’ only to see Ray’s images waiting for them along the way in to MAP. Champagne was served before entering the galleries, which were lively with five culinary stations and plenty of great artwork. Coupling a silent auction of juried artworks with a live auction of luxury items, there was plenty for guests of the event to bid on throughout the evening.
All proceeds from the live auction benefit Maryland Art Place. All silently auctioned artworks mutually benefited both MAP and artist. The exhibitors were selected for exhibition by a prestigious jury including: Elliott Landy(freelance – NY state & official photographer of Woodstock 1969); Lynn Silverman (instructor – Maryland Institute College of Art); Joshua Yospyn (freelance – Washington DC); Colby Caldwell (instructor – St. Mary’s College of Maryland); and, Josh Sisk (freelance – Baltimore, MD.)

The exhibition will be up through December 15th with a closing reception planned for Thursday, December 13 at 6pm (free and open to the public!)
