1. Wham City Comedy at the Metro Gallery

It’s Baltimore’s own Wham City Comedy in their hometown show on May 1st and May 2nd at the Metro Gallery! Thursday night features our own Ezra Winter! 2. All Night Music Festival at MICA

Celebrate sound and space at the 5th annual all-night music festival, THE VIGIL, hosted by Sound Art at MICA (Interactive Arts department) in collaboration with the Animation department. Spanning from experimental chamber music to live electronics: sample-based remixes, musique concréte and field recordings, modular and other analog synthesizers in voltage-controlled bliss, downtempo and ambient soundscapes), brought together with projected animations…

3. Code in the Schools Birthday Bash

Gaming For a Cause!

In the past year Code in the Schools brought computer science instruction to over 400 students across Baltimore city. Join us to celebrate our first year in operation, and help us raise money to support our 2014-15 courses. Play old-school arcade games, listen to live performances of your favorite video game soundtracks, and snack on video game themed sushi!

5. The Nakatani Gong Orchestra

Japanese Avant Garde

Japanese American percussionist Tatsuya Nakatani brings his famed Nakatani Gong Orchestra to EMP thanks to the aural shamans of the High Zero Collective. The concert will feature a solo percussion set by Nakatani followed by the Nakatani Gong Orchestra. Nakatani has recruited a cabal of local artists to fill the orchestra for the Baltimore performance, including M.C. Schmidt, Owen Gardner, Lexie Mountain, Neil Feather, Paul Neidhardt, Caroline Marcantoni and Andrew Bernstein.
