Beginning in July (and running through August), AVAM has been screening outdoor family films on Federal Hill every Thursday night for their
Flicks on the Hill Series
. The films are free and it’s nice to share a little communal picnic with new and old friends. Before the flick, the museum is open and admission is free from 5 -9pm on movie nights.

Fay Wray, aka Meg Bowen, and King Kong (otherwise known as Tim Swartz) appreciate the wonders of the AVAM before copping a squat on the grass to watch the classic film.

This past Thursday, AVAM hosted a Roaring 20’s Safari Party in honor of their showing of the 1933 film King Kong. There’s costumes, free food and libations were flowing in the Barn and Beer Garden thanks to Max’s Tap House .

The costume contest winners, Barbara Svoboda and McGregor Yatsevitch, were resplendent in their natty safari wear.
