At Maryland Leadership Workshops, Inc. (MLW), middle and high school students (called delegates) discover their potential, guide their own destiny and become the leaders of today and tomorrow.

Delegates like Dakota Spiegel, who worked with a group of his peers and a Maryland House of Delegates representative to brainstorm strategies to raise awareness among students about the dangers of synthetic marijuana. Today, Dakota applies this experience to his high school life, demonstrating leadership qualities throughout the year.

At MLW, students from all over the state of Maryland spend a week living on a college campus exploring the concepts and skills of leadership with trained staff.

The program relies on a diversity of perspectives and voices but is threatened by increased costs that can be a barrier for some potential delegates. Dakota was only able to attend MLW because of a generous scholarship.

MLW has teamed up with GiveCorps to strengthen the scholarship fund to enable the participation of a middle or high school student, who like Dakota, would otherwise not be able to attend. Your gift today makes the MLW experience possible for a student who will, in turn, bring that knowledge back to his or her school and community.

MLW believes that every student should have the the opportunity to discover the concepts and practice the skills that are critical for success in today’s world. You can make it happen!
