BHGH Graduate

After losing both parents to HIV/AIDS, two brothers, ages 11 and 14, found themselves in separate foster homes. They had endured physical abuse and abandonment. And were missing a lot of school time.

But, when the boys made it to class, they shined – demonstrating natural academic talents and scoring well on IQ and Achievement tests. A school administrator, desperate to not let these boys fall through the cracks, made a referral to Boys Hope Girls Hope (BHGH).

The boys were able to live together in BHGH’s year-round safe and structured family-like home. And they began to excel. After graduating from high school and college, one with a Master’s degree, both boys have started rewarding careers.

To date, 100% of the BHGH scholars who have completed the Baltimore program have graduated from high school, are currently matriculated collegians, or are college graduates.

But, the truth is, the cost of college visits, campus tours, SAT prep, exams and applications create permanent barriers to entry for most underprivileged high school students.

BHGH has teamed up with GiveCorps to launch their BMore Collegiate campaign. Your gift to BMore Collegiate will help an academically talented high school student visit college campuses, pay test-prep and testing fees and cover application costs.

You can give these hard working students the chance they deserve!
