Everyone is at least a little gay for someone. Of course, some of us are more queer than others. On Saturday, June 7, I went to the annual Gay Pride Parade in DC and spent time with folks on the right side of the Kinsey Scale. I’ve never been a big fan of parades but this one made me reconsider my position. Tens-of-thousands came out to the event to celebrate diversity and acceptance. Despite protests from the Westboro Baptist Church who condemned everyone straight to hell, an air of celebration filled the city. The message was clear: we should all have pride in who we are.

The Pride Parade wants YOU
The DC Pride Parade proved to be a good time for everyone involved. If you get a chance to go I highly recommend it. Let’s not limit the spirit of Pride to just one day. Instead we should be celebrating all year long.
