East Coast Experimental
Baltimore’s foremost sound playground, the Red Room hosts Greg Fox, a New York City native and a music maker. He is primarily known for his drumming with past and present collaborations and projects including but not limited to Guardian Alien, Ben Frost, Colin Stetson, ZS, the Dan Deacon Ensemble, Liturgy, Teeth Mountain, Man Forever, Oneida, The Dreebs, PC Worship and Family of Love. With Twig Harper and Carly Ptak also performing.
3. Glitter Thighs Presents: 2500N?
Dance back to the early oughts
2000s themed dance party kicking off in Highlandtown. From the promoters: “Remember the 2000s? Your rent was like $100 for a giant warehouse. Baltimore was drinking Sparks at the Talking Head and New York was making mistakes in the basement at MisShapes. The Bush administration was in the White House, but Daft Punk was playing in my house, in my house.”
4. Suffocation at Metro Gallery
Just Remember to Breath
Veterans of death metal Suffocation return to Baltimore to let loose some fast and furious guitar riffs at Metro Gallery. This evening of mayhem also f Strong Intention, Visceral Disgorge and more. What Weekly will be out front selling ear plugs – come say hi!
Group Exhibition
A show themed around collaborative works is having it’s exciting opening reception. A host of Baltimore’s creative class will be showing work including What Weekly contributor Daniel Stuelpnagel and the former roommate of your humble events curator, McKenzie Ditter.
