Last Friday was the Opening Reception for the Baker Artist Award Winners at the Baltimore Museum of Art.
The multi-disciplinary exhibition showcases the winners of the prestigious $25,000 Mary Sawyers Baker Prize: musicianNathan Bell, photographer Alexander Heilner, and sculptorDavid Knopp.
This spectacular showcase of talent also features a diverse group of visual art and music from the $1,000 b-grant winners: Brent Crothers, Miranda Pfeiffer, Tiffany Jones, Chris Bathgate, Yoshi Fujii, Ellen Durkan, Smooth Kentucky, Marcia Wolfson Ray, and the late Lauren Simonutti.
the William G. Baker, Jr. Memorial Fund established the Baker Artist Awards in 2008-2009 to recognize Baltimore’s artists and engage regional, national, and international audiences in supporting these artists’ work. All Baltimore-area artistsworking in any creative discipline who live and work in Baltimore City and the five surrounding counties are encouraged to register, exhibit their work, promote the site to friends, and compete for the Mary Sawyers Baker Prizes.
