It’s First Thursday in Mount Vernon at Dougherty’s Pub and opening night for artist Heather Joi, the prolific artist filled the entire 60 ft wall of the pub with anthropomorphic forms, delicious shining glaze, musical and colorful gestures and many a conceptual mirror. Her work will be up for the entire month.

Artist Heather Joi and percussionist and visual artist Kamajian (Alfred) Schlagzeuger at Heather’s opening. Here Schlagzeuger shows me the necklace he created because he couldn’t find one that was like the one he saw in his head, now that’s self-reliance.
