WHAT WEEKLY

Rows Wraps

17 August 2011

★ David Warfield

Wednesday August 17 marks the wrap of principal photography for ROWS. Cast and crew will melt back into their lives in Baltimore, L.A., New York. This shoot was a beyond-summer-camp bonding experience, like no other. I am going to miss all the funny, creative, dedicated people living in my house or showing up every morning at seven to contribute to the making of this film. I have much more than just their work to thank them for. With my wife and child out of town for the duration of the shoot, I gave up my own bedroom to provide lodging for actors. I slept in my mother’s basement for several nights, which means I saw more of her than I ordinarily would, especially while working 18-hour days. As it happens, her health took a sudden turn for the worse. She passed away last week. I probably would not have seen her had I not been sleeping over. My movie family was so understanding and supportive. I’m really grateful for that. My other family and I will need some time to adjust to the loss of a beloved and steadfast mother. Then, the long climb up the mountain known as post-production. Thank you, everyone. David Warfield
