Graffiti Writers: CEDA and DUME

Baltimore has mixed feelings about the artists who often exhibit their work on the neglected and decaying parts of the city. Whether you view graffiti under the narrow definition of vandalism or admire the art form for the vibrant subversiveness that diverts your attention when you happen upon an unexpected gallery in what seems to be an impossible location, one thing is certain. Graffiti is as much a part of the culture of our city as any of the more socially acceptable forms of art.

This week, What Weekly contributor Nether brings us an interview with two Baltimore graffiti writers who have been rather busy as of late. This is a rare conversation and a glimpse of a culture typically unseen by outsiders.
