Jimmie’s Chicken Shack
Jimmie’s Chicken Shack celebrates its 20th Anniversary at Rams Head Live on January 11! The band will play “Pushing the Salmanilla Envelope” in its entirety and most of “Bring Your Own Stereo” during a set that is sure to be filled with surprises, including members from the band’s entire history & more!
When Pompeii Graffiti’s Ahren Buchheister and Cara Santin fall in love with albums they feel the need to do more than just listen to them, they want to play them! While “The Album” may seem like a dying format, Pompeii Graffiti shines a light on albums recorded in more recent years that could be considered masterpieces of Indie Rock. In January they will perform Neutral Milk Hotel’s seminal 1998 album, “In The Aeroplane Over The Sea.” In order to pay tribute to this classic indie album, Pompeii Graffiti has brought together a nine piece band (including 2 trumpets, lapsteel, a vocalist, and musical saw!). The tunes are covered with reverence by Thom Beall, Philippe Brunet, Ahren Buchheister, Robin Eckman, Tyler Grimsley, Aaron Lahey, Zach Mazzola, Cara Santin and Harrison Willis. The attention to detail that Pompeii Graffiti has for this album is spectacular and their performance will please the most devout fans. Jan 11. 8pm. $15, $10 mbrs.
