Tonight at the Creative Alliance is  A Tribute to Nina Simone: An Evening Honoring the High Priestess of Soul!

Director Rosiland Cauthen explores Nina’s profound influence with a group of dynamic young companies and artists. Diva Navasha Daya, co-founder and former lead singer of Fertile Ground, and Patterson favorite Jonathan Gilmore interpret Nina in song. Dance companies Raynfall and DishiBem, Bashi Rose’s Nommo Theater and incomparable performance artist Olu Butterfly immerse themselves in the angst, power, fierce tenacity and pride that is Nina Simone’s legacy, still vibrant for these committed Baltimore artists.

Performers include Navasha Daya, Olu Butterfly, Bashi Rose & Nommo Theatre, Dishibem Contemporary Traditional Dance, Sharayna Christmas-Rose and Raynfall Dance Company, The Griot’s Eye Program, and Jonathan Gilmore
